Alpine summer. What's
on for winter sports buffs?
So what happens next? Summer
is just around the corner and folks are thinking about other
types of holidays, something different than skiing,
snowboarding and the like. Or are they?

Local tourist resorts are reaping the benefits of a
weak Swiss currency that recently plunged to record
lows against the euro and is also down against the
British pound. More |

Can
one in ten of you name this beautiful,
Austrian Lake?
OK,
how many can name even one of the villages that surround it? This will
be especially difficult if you do not come from Europe, or indeed a
German or other European language speaking country.

Alpine
Golf...what's in a name?
Alpine golf.
That’s a phrase that’s used with all too common frequency by
European national tourism boards. Too bad –for them – that we own
the web site. However asleep at the switch as they clearly were one
thing is for certain; if you are a golfer, there’s magic in the
alpine air and they want you to know it.

Cervinia on the Italian side of the
famous Matterhorn.
Pre Christmas 2004 was the first time I had
visited Cervinia in some time. I have always enjoyed being on the
Italian side of the Matterhorn; the huge mountain looks so close
from the beginner’s slopes of Cervinia. In fact I prefer the view
of the Cervinia side to the view from
Zermatt
. True it is a sight to behold from the Swiss resort and you are
blessed if your Zermatt hotel has a
Matterhorn view.

Think there's
nothing to do in the Alps during summer? Nothing
could be further from the truth. Stroll through
quaint villages, do a little downhill biking, kayak
in rivers laced throughout this pristine haven.
Experience the Alps through
timeshare rentals. Instead of owning, you can
book resorts (located in every nook and cranny
throughout Europe) as easily as reserving a hotel
room.
Timeshares for rent provide you with an easy
alternative to traditional accommodations. |

The Jungfrau Video
The Jungfraujoch video is an eye-popping
example of Swiss beauty. Billed as “the top of Europe”, the
Jungfrau is a treat for all visitors. This video takes a lot
of the guesswork out of planning your trip and is a real
stunner.

Interlaken/Grindelwald Video
With just a smattering
of exciting Interlaken scenes and a much more thorough
view
of the superb resort of Grindelwald and surrounds this is a
magnificent video tour de force. Helped by the staggering
mountains that tower over Grindelwald, the makers of this
video took advantage of the beautiful town and surroundings.

Lake Geneva Area Video
There is no better view in all of Europe than
that around the Lake of Geneva. Viewed from many angles and
many small and larger villages, this splendid video takes you
along the lake from Geneva to Montreaux. Naturally the lake is
there all year, but summer is the best time to see, swim, dine
and just hang out.

Switzerland Summer Video
This video is a dandy. It does not concentrate
on any single aspect, destination or sport in Switzerland.
Instead it provides an overall picture of this small country
full of mountains. Here though there is a generous helping of
Swiss lakes and mountains. Worth seeing if you are thinking of
visiting Switzerland.
